Project: Striped Cotton Dishcloth
'This pattern must be as old as my mother,' said one of our new knitters recently as she recognized the simple shape taking form. 'Older,' said her mother, 'And you're buying lunch.'
Skill Level: Absolute Beginner
Skills Required: Learn to cast on and knit, how to knit stripes and plan stripes.
Pattern Requirements: Please download, print and bring your own copy of the pattern HERE on Ravelry or HERE on the ‘wayback machine.’
Materials: Choose two colors of Pima 100. You will also need US #7 knitting needles and two stitch markers. You may purchase any or all of the tools required for this project at LYS but you may also bring your own needles and tools.
This workshop is suitable for Absolute Beginner Knitters. Absolute Beginners are Future Knitters who have not yet put ‘yarn’ to ‘needle,’ have neither ‘knit’ nor ‘purled,’ and don’t know the difference between ‘casting on’ and ‘casting off.’ Also, perhaps, Former Knitters who may have forgotten it all (you know who you are!). We’ll talk about choosing yarn and tools, and teach you to cast on, knit, and bind off.
Your yarn purchase from Lancaster Yarn Shop reserves your place in Free Workshops, Classes and Knit-a-longs. Your yarn should be wound into a ball before the Workshop.
Class size is limited. Pre-register by purchasing your yarn in the shop or online HERE.
