Project: Fair Isle Cap
Liven up your handwork and increase your knitting skills with stranded color-work. Fair Isle or stranded color-work is one of the most common techniques used in knitting to create multi color patterns.
Skill Level: Advanced Beginner/Intermediate/Extreme
Skills Required: Complete understanding of basic knitting skills including purling.
Pattern Requirements: 16" circular US #6, 7 or 8 needles, US #6, 7 or 8 DPNs or as needed for gauge & stitch markers. Purchase a pdf of the pattern HERE.
Homework: Cast on and knit the ribbing before class.
Materials: Two skeins worsted or aran weight wool in contrasting colors. Shown above in Reggae Ombre’ in two colors.
Class size is limited. Yarn for Classes & Free Workshops must be purchased at Lancaster Yarn Shop. Your yarn purchase reserves your spot in the class.
We have everything you need for this project available here in the shop. If you already have needles you may bring them, please bring a variety of sizes as your gauge may vary.
