Fair Isle 101
Freaked over Fair Isle? Curious about stranded colorwork techniques? Intimidated by multiple strands of yarn in multiple colors? Not sure how gauge works or how to trap those floats? This is the workshop for you!
Estonian Inlay/Roosimine 101
An ancient Estonian technique sometimes referred to as “Estonian inlay,” this embroidery-like technique is a very distant cousin of intarsia knitting worked by making floats on the right side of the work.
Spend the day learning in the Perella Schoolhouse* in Intercourse, Pennsylvania. Explore colorwork with Tanis in her most popular class ‘Fair Isle 101,’ an after lunch talk: ‘The Science & Theory Behind Color & How We Can Use that In Our Knitting,’ and an exploration of Estonian inlay (Roosimine). Both classes are project based; deepen your knowledge of colorwork while knitting a cowl and a hat! Even experienced knitters will find new strategies and methods in classes with Tanis.
Midday, we’ll enjoy a delicious catered lunch. Please reach out to us about any dietary restrictions by September 30.
