A friendly, fun introduction to the absolute basics of knitting. Learn everything you need to make a simple, beautiful scarf in this free two hour workshop. The Plowfield Scarf is made using only the knit stitch!
Project: Plowfield Scarf
Skill Level: Absolute Beginner
Skills Required: None!
Techniques Taught: Material selection, yarn winding, long-tail cast on, the knit stitch, tricks and tips, and how to bind off.
Materials & Tools: Two skeins Ultra-Alpaca Chunky, US #8 or #9 knitting needles, stitch markers. Choose a KIT here.
This workshop is suitable for Absolute Beginner Knitters. Absolute Beginners are Future Knitters who have not yet put ‘yarn’ to ‘needle,’ have neither ‘knit’ nor ‘purled,’ and don’t know the difference between ‘casting on’ and ‘casting off.’ Also, perhaps, Former Knitters who may have forgotten it all (you know who you are!). We’ll help you choose your materials and tools, and teach you to cast on, knit, and bind off. Your purchase of a kit saves your spot!

Classes and FREE Workshops at Lancaster Yarn Shop must meet a minimum enrollment to be held as scheduled. Classes and Free Workshops that are under-enrolled will be cancelled or re-scheduled. If a Class is cancelled, tuition will be refunded. As always, all yarn, pattern and tool sales are final.
