Lancaster Yarn Shop is pleased to bring designer and teacher Olga Buraya-Kefelian to Lancaster for two days of classes. Friday evening, Olga will teach ‘Novelty Cables.’ Join us for dessert and visiting with Olga between 5:00 and 6:00. Class begins at 6:00.
Designing as OlgaJazzy since 2006, Olga has an intuitive understanding of design for wearability. She is known for her deeply textured, innovative fabrics and patterns that can enrich any knitter’s skill set.
‘Cables add texture and dimension to knitted fabric and can be quite simple or quite complex. Many of us are familiar with traditional cabling techniques which are fun and effective. In this class learn five new and novel ways to create cables. Other topics include various cast on methods, picking up stitches, working welts, cable decreases, and expert tips and suggestions about how and when to use all of these techniques in knitwear.’
Level: Beginner/Intermediate/Advanced
Skills needed: knit, purl, cast on, bind off. Suitable for beginner knitters with these skills.
Materials: 2-3 colors of 200 yards worsted weight yarn for swatching, US #6 & 7 needles, US #4 & 5 DPNs, crochet hook size F or G, tapestry needle
