join our Strange Brew sweater knit-along!

Our Winter sweater Knit-A-Long is Strange Brew by Tin Can Knits.  This is one of the most expansive, size & gauge inclusive patterns you will ever encounter! Written for three different gauges, and infinitely customizable, this pattern is suitable for a first-time sweater knitter, for experienced sweater knitters, and for knitters who want to challenge themselves.

For this KAL, we are recommending flyWHEEL, 100% Pure Virgin Wool yarn from Harrisville Designs. With flyWHEEL’s rich palette (we have all 20 colors!), you can combine as few as two colors for a simple and dramatic pattern, or choose as many colors as you wish for a more vibrant sweater. 

Of course, there are other yarn possibilities and we are happy to work with you to find just the right one!    

Bring your WIP, your swatches, or choose yarn and cast on your sweater!  Gauge swatches are essential to making a sweater that fits well!  At the cast on party, we will evaluate your blocked swatches and work together on issues of size and fit. You can also participate ‘virtually!’  We’re happy to ship your yarn and you can check in with our KAL posts on Ravelry! 

Pro swatching tip:  cast on, knit and block a fair isle hat so you can check your gauge in the round.
